Default G Stock BMW

I used to have an E30 325es. Haven't noticed anyone running one in GS but it seems like it would be a good car for the class. Just curious what anyone (Jesse) thinks.

Can you tell I don't have much going on today.

IIRC, wasn't the es model the one with the torque monster, great fuel mileage car?

The only *really good* GS BMW is the one year old E30 318is coupe. Russel Blume took 3rd in one in 2002 I think, and then went to STX with it, I think. Heyward Wagner now has one, with the possible intentions of building it for DSP.

Yeah, Lots of torque, only about 125hp, 4800rpm redline. Kind of a gas powered diesel. Was Blume's car an E30 or an E36?

I used to run with Russ back in Wichita, he's an amazing driver. If he had the budget, he'd be on par with folks like Bob Tunnell.

E30, 1991 was the only year they even made it.

and yeah, the torque monster 325es just isn't a competitor, bad gearing, no power, poor suspension... sorry

Definately, Russel can drive his butt off, and he's a funny guy in person.

Don't be sorry. I sold mine 3 years ago. Just happened upon a picture of it next to a Bugeye I restored some time ago.

My favorite Russell story (other than when he got protested at Nats and bumped from first to I think 3rd for "timing out of spec"... it was RETARDED a little too far) was when he showed up at an autocross with his Mom's VW Passat TDI because his car was out of commission. He bolted on his wheels and R tires from his Golf and set second fastest time of the day in that car!
