True. A 327 is a rare motor since they were discontinued in the 60's though. Fucker would sit good in a car that's supposed to have a 327 like a stock Camaro coupe or an Impala.

It isnt that rare actually... just under used.

If the block is clean you can get 250 for everything, but if you got this free and you have no offers 150 isnt bad. 327s are not in high demand. Had this been a 350 or 396 youd have 0 problems.

It could easily be a 350. I have a 350 crank sitting right next to the 327 crank. That's the only god damn difference between a 327 and a 350 anyway.

I think 327 are much more rare than a 350 block.

No shit. Give me a 283 block and my 327 crank and we'll make you a bad ass 302! Wait, give me a 3.75" stroke crank and a .030" bore I'll make you a 383 stroker! Don't want a stroker? Give me a stock 3.80" crank for a normal 383 then.

Fucking Chevrolet...

327s are much rarer than 350s, but most people would rather just get a 350. Much cheaper to buy. 327s are great motors, but have a higher premium. Plus you can get a good 350 block from any junkyard. My bet would be to put the motor for sale on hemmings motor news. Ask $450, collectors and restorers will flock to you. Harder to find them, and people are starting to use 327s more because they are fairly rev happy.

327's are killer motors. I had this thing producing around 350hp with a 6500rpm redline all day. It's just not cost effective to rebuild it for speed when my car never had a 327 in it to begin with. At least with the 383 it'll have the external appearance of being a 350 block and I can pull off the SS-350 motif. I might even put stock valve covers and shit on it.

That's more like it, you had me going with the whole $150 thing. Frank, I know it's a PITA to pack it and ship it, but have you thought about e-bay? Get the right two people on it and you may be surprised what it does
