Default Are 2 15" L7's too much for my car?

I just got a pair of 15" L7's from a buddy of mine, and I want to put them in my sonata to replace my IDMAX. I was thinking of making a complete fiberglass enclosure to sit in the back of the trunk, have my amp sit facing the back of the seats, and have the subs face the license plate side by side. I was thinking of a way to port the enclosure, but i think that'd be way too hard. I know the 15" L7's can be in anywhere from a 1.5 ft^3 to 6 ft^3 sealed boxes, so i figure if i get close, i'll be ok. Do you think I will be able to fit this big of a box in the trunk of a 2004 Hyundai Sonata?

Anything is possible. Dont forget to use the spare tire well if needed.

You're going to need a massive box and a massive amount of power if you want to get the full potential out of those. I'd say a single L7 would be much easier to work with, but then in that case, your single IDMAX should outperform it.

With fiberglass anything can be done =) You can make enough space out of your trunk, the question is are you willing to sacrifice your trunk space.

shit, I can't to my spare tire as it is now, so I might as well throw them both in there. They're both DVC 4 ohm, so I can wire them to 1 ohm, and run them off my nine.1 and get like 1500 watts rms. I'm gonna practice my work by making a box for a 16Kv.2 in the back of a 1990 accord in a similar way.

Would it be worth trying to port them? or should I just go the easy way, and have them sealed? I'm thinking that if i were to mount them inverted with the magnets facing the license plate, it would look sooo beautiful. and be pretty damn loud. lol

well, considering that I have never built a fiberglass enclosure before, how dificyult would it be to calculate the port length size, etc. Also, would there be that drematic of a difference between porting them and going sealed? I know they're gonna be loud regardless, just making sure.

Also, does anyone have some recommendations of how I can place them in my trunk? http://www.icixsound.com/vb/icixnati...o=view&id=1213

Just thought of an idea. Since my back seats fold down, would I be able to make the subs sit facing the back of my seats, and use the trunk as a sealed enclosure? Like, just seal off the subs so that the trunk acts as if it were a sealed anclosure without the use of a huge fiberglass enclosure. Also, I'd be able to make something nice for my amp to sit behind the subs, and wiring would be a piece of cake.

Would I have to worry about listening to the subs with the trunk open, making them in term free air. I know my IDMAX can be free air, but I haven't been able to find out of the L7's were.

I don't think I would do that unless they are free air. Your trunk is not as sealed as you think it is and I don't think it would sound good at all. There are couple ways to make ports on FB boxes, you can just build em with MDF at the bottom of the box (or where ever you want them really) and just cover around it or you can make smaller rings and use those as ports, that way you can place them anywhere you want when you find out size of port/length etc. It is a little bit harder to calculate port size and such with FB tho. I think its more of estimating so to speak.

though for me, you'd have to change it to 10 inches, and you'd have to change inches to millimeters, and you'd have to change 10 to 5 and you'd have to change dick to poor excuse for one.
