Default Uh Oh! Blown Fuse! >:|

So I just had a sub, amp, and head unit installed. As soon as I turn the key to test it out, hear a fuse pop, and I got no power to anything. I haven't gone through and checked all the fuses, but it's probably ignition, not sure. Maybe something was grounding out somewhere, but my main question is this:
I moved the battery forward, and to extend the reach of the power wires for the car's fuse boxes, I used 4 gauge power wire (for the amp) as the connector. Is there any problem with doing this? It isn't copper-plated, but I figured since it's designed to hold power, it should be fine. Anyone wanna come over and start digging for grounded cables?

he has a chevelle, so he has a huge engine bay, and probably moved it from near the fire wall to near the front of the car.

It sounds like something is grounded wrong. Where did you ground your battery to? do your headlights turn on, or is it just ur stereo that won't work?

Actually, it's in an Integra. The stock size battery is small, and fits right by the firewall, but I upgraded to a yellow top, so I had to move it forward. The battery is grounded on a nearby screw. Nothing works in the car. Is the 4awg wire fine to hold the power to the fuse boxes?

4 ga. should be fine to the fuse box.. you cna upgrade to 0/1 if you arent comfortable, but 4 guage can support 500 watts + and Im willing to think that everythign in the fuse box combined wont total up to that much power usage. Grounded to a screw? what screw? Try a bolt on the shock tower or something of the sort..

I believe an Integra uses 8guage (or even 10gauge) factory wiring, so 4guage should be more than enough.

It's grounded to the front of the frame. But that shouldn't be a problem. If it wasn't grounded right, I would get nothing. Instead, I blew a fuse (probably more) and then got nothing.

Is it grounded to bare metal (ie, is it shiny) ?
