Default infinity amps

Well I am going to upgrade my system soon and need a pair of amps. One 4 channel that puts out 100rms+ @ 4ohms and a mono that will do 600+ @ 2ohms. I found some infinitys that are in my price range(~$200 each) and do what I need. So how do these perform/last? Looking at the reference series. Thanks for any help.

decent at best. they get the job done compared to the amps we carry at circuit city (except kicker)...save up some money and do it right the first time.

Well I've read that they are made by the same people that make jbl and some other reputable amps. So what exactly is wrong with them? Run hot? Don't put out their rated power?

I can afford more expensive amps, just don't want to spend more than $200-250 per amp. What else is better in that range that puts out that power?

no one really likes infinity, including me. If you're going to get an amp, go with something nice, and that will last a while. check out www.edesignaudio.com or hifonics, or cadence amps

Well what is the reason for not liking them is all I am wondering. I just know the way many products get bad names is just through word of mouth. If no one uses them how do they know they are bad. Read this:

caraudio.com (like most forums) isnt the best source for everything, unless you personally know the people you are talking to and are sure they know what theyre talking about.

theyre not bad, they just have nothing great about them. not great sq, not great output, like i said its not bad but if im going to buy an amp its going to be worth the money and not just some run of the mill piece.

Yeah I gotcha. Was just wondering why everyone loves JBL amps but some people have bad things to say about Infinity, know what I mean? Infinity is made by the same people and is actually a more expensive amp.
