Alpine = PAC TR7 Module

$25 + hookup 3 wires = success

I like the alpine unit, and eclipse is also a good unit but I have heard more about alpine than eclipse ( I am guessing it is cause the eclipse stuff is more $$$) I will look at the wiring diagram when I get it, but it sounds like it is a basic unit as far as fooling the signals, ebrake, and or foot brake, to a switch that I control instead of the ebrake switch doing it. as far as gps..... on long trips maybe but the last time I went on a long trip I mapped it on yahoo first and it was 2 years ago, so if I need gps for some reason then I can worry about that.

instead of opening the brain and soldering it, could you use an adapter for the gps antenna, or is the antenna hard wired and not on a plug?

does this even apply to the alpine 300 or 310?

it sounds like the box on ebay is nothing but a relay setup, whether it uses transistors to do it I don't know, but it would be easy enough to duplicate.

thanks for the help guys.

Again - if you go with the Alpine, but the PAC module I listed above. It's foolproof, it's cheap, and there are no switches to deal with. Forget about all the other stuff.

I may spring for it just to save myself time in not having to design a circuit myself, but I will definately hook it up to an on off switch just so I can make it look like it working the way it is supposed to. I am not sure if florida has laws against the driver being able to view the dvd's while the vehicle is in motion, if not the screw the switch, if so then I'll put it in.
