Chitown...you need some help, and that's not a flame...we've all been there at some point. Go into a shop, any shop, and ask some of these questions. If the shop won't answer these simple questions for you, don't go back there again. This stuff is so much easier to explain in person, vs. over the net.
Also, try this site

There is all kinds of free info on here. From relays to amps to crossovers to LED's. He also sells a CD, but the free stuff is really all you'll need for a while.
Most importantly...have someone who really knows what they are talking about PHYSICALLY LOOK AT YOUR WIRING before you fire that thing up again.

Best advice so far. If you don't have a friend who really knows car audio, take your setup into a "good" shop and have them look it over...and see if the installer can explain things to you a little more.
We could tell you how to wire things up on here, but it's probably going to only confuse you more.

I'd recommend taking what you'd spend on 3 individual subs and put it into one (or two) really good subs. It will most likely require less power, less space, and probably be louder. Areas most people overlook are sound dampening and upgrading their stock electrical system. Invest into dynamating (or the like) atleast your entire trunk area, and throw in a high output alternator as well as upgrading your existing battery to something like a red or yellow top optima. Alot of people think they can throw a bunch of subs in their trunk, a big amp, and call it a day....but your system is only as good as it's weakest link.

i want 3 because i like how the set up looks, with the box that is kind of curved with one speaker towards the front and a speaker on either side of it. if i were to get that what guage wire would i have to get. and would i need more than 1 amp for those three subs, or could i jus get 1 good 1. also what brand of inside speakers do you guys think is the best.
