Default Reviews on MTX

About to head into the shop and talk to the dealer. I have 2 Phoenix Gold 15"s that are pretty much worn down to shit. The cones are all weathered, and the tools in the trunk already punctured them a little. Anyway I am goin in soon, like 2 days, and gettin new 15"s. I was thinking about the MTX 7500s. Anybody know where I can read some good reviews? Ive been researching all day, but all I really find is automated reviews from the dealers. Anyway it's going to run me close to $1100 for the subs, box, amp, rewiring, and capacitor. Anybody heard these 7500s in action??

I haven't heard this particular woofer, but MTX makes a fairly decent product.

Looking at the specs, it doesn't look bad, nor does it look exceptionally great. Depending on what you have to pay for them, they will probably be fine.

What are you looking for? Smooth lows, big SPL? The fairly high QTS is going to make this a medium to large sealed box woofer, which will be good for smooth low bass, but not the best for spl. What type of music do you listen to? What type of power do you plan on putting to them? How much room do you have for a box?

These are the things you need to know to pick a good woofer. Just because it hits hard (or sounds like crap) in one application doesn't mean it will in another.

I am definately into the low deep bass that can be felt. I am not too much into blowin my ears out, but rather feeling the deep power. I just picked MTX as a choice because it had some good reviews(just the few that I could find), and it's class "Superwoofer" sounded pleasing. I have plenty of room for the box. I have a sealed box with 2 15"s right now. The car is a 2004 Impala. Seems like the subs run around $270 per sub. I listen to all types of music. Mostly Reggae, but also smooth rock with long bass lines, and alot of rap so I always have 15"s as a choice cause like I said I want to feel it, and of all the 12"s I have had in my car, it just seems that the way my car was built to deflect road noise, I need the most bass

Talking

I just bought them. All I can say is that I have a smile on my face when I ride. My rearview fell off within 2 minutes and the fenders on my car keep popping out even with the hushmat. Louder than anything here and from all my car has right now I know I can get into amatuer comps. I just need to remove the pioner component speakers and maybe some polks. Watch out cause I am coming back to St Pete from July15-30. Lemme know if any of ya wanna meet up or somethin

1100 is way to high - the subs are 80 a piece the amp is 200 the cap is no more than 100 and 100 for the box that means you are paying way more than 5 bills for labor, thats too much. try 800 and see what he says.

Notladstyle, show me where you can get MTX 7500series 15" subs for $80 a piece. I will buy you a system too. Man, cmon. Those are EASILY over $200 each and an amp thats not class d for $200, yeah right man. I know I paid retail prices cause I researched. I didn't get cut a 'deal' cause I am in Kansas right now and I don't know anybody here. You might of thought I said I bought roadgear subs from walmart, but nah man I got some serious slammin goin on and it was worth EVERY dime
