Default Parking brake wire issue. Panasonic in-dash cq-vd7001u

Hey guys,

I have a cq-vd7001u panasonic in-dash I'm trying to instal in my car. It's a dvd player. I have everything hooked up besides the parking brake wire, I don't have one? There is no extra wire on my harness besides an orange dimmer wire. Whenever I try to watch a movie it just says "enjoy the music". I have no parking brake wire, so my question is this. Is there any other way to watch a movie with out hooking a parking brake wire up?

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.

You have to have the parking brake wire, if not you need a new harness...

Listed as "Side Brake" blue/yellow stripe.

Find the method to bypass it altogether and save yourself another trip for a new harness or whatever.

Default Bypass

How might someone go about doing that?
I took it to the shop today, it doesn't look like I have the parking brake wire. So how exactly would someone go about bypassing it?

Think of the reason why it would need a parking brake wire for it to even function in the first place.

Once you've thought of that, you need a way to mimic it.

I went to AVE over the weekend. They told me to take a wire to each of the remaining open pins and test each one until it worked or to go and buy a new harness. Thanks for the info guys.

AVE is a good shop, I've bought quite a bit of things from them.

I have the same exact HU, the wire your looking for may be black as well. I just grounded mine to the chassis and it plays dvds without the parking brake on. Hope this helps.
