Default Type r or Type s

so im looking to redo my whole system but im sticking with alpine... now my question for this is i dont want a lot of bass coming out of my speakers and i wish i could fix a 6x9 speaker in my truck to get the alpine 3way speakers but im stuck with the 5x7... so now my question is would it be better to get the type s or type r for the door speakers? cause the type s has less bass than the type r and i dont want really much bass coming out of my speakers since ill have a sub.

Why don't you want midbass? You will be missing out on a huge part of the system? Why don't you try some components, you will get better clarity, and better midbass.

right now i have the type s components, ill be keeping the tweaters but changing out the door speaker since i already blew 1 out. which i dont even see on their site anymore. so you think it'd sound better if i got the type r's and amped those up better than the type s's? i always thought and heard 3 way speakers would be better since i have a sub to do all the bass.

3way, 4way, ect. it is nothing but a marketing gimmick.

The best type of speaker hands down is a component set with a good crossover. It allows each speaker to seperatley pplay what it performs best at. And you want your speakers to have some bass. Personally I cross my sub @ 63hz @ 24dB slope. Mid bass is pretty from 63/80hz up to 220hz.... I don't think I sub should ever play above 80hz.

build a plate and use a 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 set - not a problem.
build pods to put your fronts in the kick panels, that would truely change the way your system sounds -

Yea you could make adapter plates for a 6.5" no problem. Kicks would be even better.
