Default Do NOT get work done at PNRCarAudio, disrespectful owner

I just want to note, at this point it does not even matter if I'm in the wrong, I just want to let TR know what kind of people their dealing with if they bring their car here.

I got work done there about 2 weeks ago, a box built for my 15". I originally told them I wanted to be able to access my spare tire if possible. Well in the end it turned out I couldn't. But I did not make a big deal about it and just paid the $300 they charged me for the box and to mount my amp. I wasn't exactly satisfied with it but I never like to make a scene or cause problems so I just thought whatever and paid for it. That was my big mistake. About a week later I found out, when I needed my toolbox from underneath where the spare tire would go, I realized I couldn't lift up the carpet PERIOD, I couldn't even get the small stuff out of it. I should of checked this at the shop before I paid but again that was a mistake. And upon closer inspection I realized that the job wasn't exactly done all that great, carpet in one of the corners was already ripping and where the amp was mounted, whoever did that when they screwed it in it ripped out some of the carpet from the lining of the trunk. So the job IMO was no where worth near $300. I went back there and they told me they can rebuild the box. I stated that I know I wasn't going to be happy with the outcome considering the work wasn't very professional in the first place (I called it a halfass job) and the owner right away just started getting all angry that I called the work halfass. I never raised my voice or even cursed besides using that one word. I just asked to be reimbursed for it and they said no cash refunds, that they would just rebuild another box. Well it was stated on their window so I understood that but seeing that the box was built wrong in the first place, and judging by the poor work done, it was obvious that I wasn't going to be happy waiting 3-4 more hours to get a box redone that I knew I wasn't going to be satisfied with, so I asked for not the full refund but at least $200 back, because I believed there should be some small exception made if the work was done wrong and the owner walked away from me back in the shop. I went in there asking them "Is this how you treat your customers? You don't even TRY to work something out?" At this point the owner just states "You know what you're a fucking idiot, you're a dumbass" Meanwhile I NEVER raised my voice or cursed. I was pretty much in shock that even if an owners upset at a customer that they would curse out their customer like this. And he repeated his self quite a few times and threatened to call the cops if I don't leave. So I just left and told them their fucking assholes.

So all in all, I don't even care at this point if I'm wrong or not in what I wanted, but I don't think ANYONE wants to deal with people that curses out their customers, even IF the customer was an asshole, in which I was no where near that.

Also, there was another customer there that wasn't happy and the owner was yelling at him too. Odds of there being two customers in the same place upset about their work? Hmm

So yeah...it may have not been the best idea for me to spend this $300 in the first place for something that looked like this, but you live and learn I guess:

Sorry to hear that. But for some reason that doesn't suprise me the least bit.

If you want to get the install done the way you want it, send me a PM.

If that box was done perfectly it isn't worth even 200.00 imo .

no it looks like a prefab box.. Hell I got a box built for $100 it wasn't carpeted but still it was for 2 12's.. and carpet is only about $20 for enough to do the whole box.. and then some glue..

There are two sides to every coin as is the case with this one I am sure. Have not heard of too many complaints on them.

I understand your concerns about not getting the job redone but maybe you could have worked out a deal with the owner that if the box wasn't built clean and with the accessibility that you wanted the second time around, at the very least maybe a partial store credit?

You will find very few shops that give cash refunds. Great customer service skills will always find a resolve that makes both parties completely satisfied (I have made some of my most loyal customers over the years not by just doing great work, but being there when something went wrong, listening, and coming up with a fair resolve).

Problem is, sounds like there may not be much fixing this situation since you did end up declining his offer and words were exchanged by both parties. I hate hearing a situation that ends like this. No one benefits...

I am with the727kid 100% on this one. Doesn't really suprise me at all. Also, he does a great job on installs if you want it corrected. That box PNR built looks like a 10yr old did that for an art project in 3rd grade.

Hope ya get it fixed!
