Custom Faceplate for double Din$$$?????
ANyone know someone who does good work and can produce a double din faceplate for around a nav system in an I35? any estimates on how much it would be. here is a pic so you can see the shape of it. It is not a rectangular piece. I know they make a peice to replace the whole thing but I was wondering if anyone local could do this? Thanks

There are no aftermarket kits available for the I35's at all (single nor double din) as you must have found out by now. It can be fabricated from the factory piece that you have there. If helps if you already have the double din replacement that you will be using. We can fabricate the surround for you same day on these. You can check out the shop under "TR Shop Forums" MCOR Automotive LLC.

cut it out and fit trim ring, fill sand prep for paint, texture, then get color code for factory paint, mix paint, dry, clear, install - i would say you you have 4-5 hours to make it right -
i normally get $85 hour.

Depends how right you want something to look. If you stop at smearing duraglass and get some Napa sortamatch paint it can be done cheap.....if you want it dead on looking like came from the assembly line like that, 250$ is a fair price. Here at my shop I'd probably charge anywhere from 150 - 250, depending if you wanted a perfect OEM matched paint and texture or if something very close is acceptable.
