Default Custom Faceplate for double Din$$$?????

ANyone know someone who does good work and can produce a double din faceplate for around a nav system in an I35? any estimates on how much it would be. here is a pic so you can see the shape of it. It is not a rectangular piece. I know they make a peice to replace the whole thing but I was wondering if anyone local could do this? Thanks

There are no aftermarket kits available for the I35's at all (single nor double din) as you must have found out by now. It can be fabricated from the factory piece that you have there. If helps if you already have the double din replacement that you will be using. We can fabricate the surround for you same day on these. You can check out the shop under "TR Shop Forums" MCOR Automotive LLC.

$250? Holy shit lol... all you got to do is dremel out a hole, glue the trim ring in place and duraglass over it, hit it with paint and your done.

cut it out and fit trim ring, fill sand prep for paint, texture, then get color code for factory paint, mix paint, dry, clear, install - i would say you you have 4-5 hours to make it right -
i normally get $85 hour.

If you stop at smearing duraglass and get some Napa sortamatch paint it can be done cheap.....if you want it dead on looking like came from the assembly line like that, 250$ is a fair price. Here at my shop I'd probably charge anywhere from 150 - 250, depending if you wanted a perfect OEM matched paint and texture or if something very close is acceptable.

Luke81 is right on but beat me to it. But, it can be done for under $100 on a lot of the I35's if you want just something that is acceptable. It has the same hole as the Maxima's with the Bose/Comfort setup. for those on a budget, we have just trimmed it out, beveled the edge with a triangle palm sander, and sprayed it with trim paint that is very close to the factory finish.
