Default Good installers in Tampa

Anyone know of any reputable installers in Tampa that can install a Pioneer D3 into my 05 Escalade? I would like to keep the Bose and 6 Disk Changer operational.

We would certainly be able to handle the job. Keeping the OEM 6 disc functional is an issue though, i've just checked and not found any interfaces that allow that to happen. Bose, OnStar, and steering wheel controls are certainly able to be retained though. Feel free to shoot me a PM or give me a ring at the shop if you'd like.

You are probably closer to luke_81's shop and I know they are capable of handling it. We can also do it but like he said, retaining the OEM changer will NOT be possible. Also, like he said, most reputable shops are capable of retaining steer wheel controls, Onstar, and bose with absolutely no issues. Many "DIY'ers" here won't have access or the knowledge of the processes this requires.

Like the other shops, we have probably done at least 30 D3's in Escalades, Tahoes, Yukons, Burbans, etc. of these model years. GM would have been smarter just to install them from the factory.

Fortunately for the aftermarket shops, they DIDN'T!

Hey now, doing a steering wheel/bose interface isn't that hard, I could do it no problem (I consider my self a DIYer). I'm yet to own a car where I have had a basic cheap harness.

I agree. I feel ya though MCOR.

Luke would be a good choice from what I've heard from people that used to work with him.

MCOR seems to be a good choice to, at least from what everyone on here says. I guess it just depends on distance.

That is precisely why I said "many DIY'ers". I know there are quite a few good ones on here-even some guys that put out professional level work but are just hobbyists. You've just got to understand though that about 1/2 of the work brought to us to "fix" was originally a problem due to faulty "my bubby did it" installations. the727kid has shared plenty of self-install pics that put many of these "hack" shops to shame and again are on-par with professional level stuff. You know you are not who I was referring to...(the ones I was referring to also know who they are cough cough cough).

Everyone here knows what I am talking about-maybe we need to have another "best of" thread with pictures. Those are always good...

Adrian, you're only half of a DIY....you at least have some decent training and know what you're doing. There are many people who have no clue, including some of the big box stores. There's a certain red big box store that sends people to me for steering wheel control interfaces all the time. They don't have the parts to do it, even if they have the ability. I don't understand why that is, but it's true.
I've always wondered about the "buddy" installs we all see....do all of these people have some idiot friend or is there just one guy named Buddy causing all kinds of chaos in the area?
