Yeah, thats what I heard in reference to the F700BT. The processor speed is somewhat slow. Ok, anyone else? Before I purchase it.

Ive done a few 700's and 900's, haven't done a 90 yet. Same stuff though. Download Firmware 2.0 onto an SD card and install it onto your head unit if it doesnt have it already. The bootup time still sucks but is improved.

That aside, its a decent unit. I'll still stick to my Eclipse though.

Default Done a couple 900's

Yea we have done a few F900BT's and they are pretty descent, nothing to get overly excited about and nothing to really bitch about either.

They had issues but were corrected by Pioneer.

I will repeat be careful buying one at that overly cheap price.

with cameras buying from sellers that low is called gray market, and the manufacture will not warranty if you have a problem.

a buddy has that unit, boot up is slow interface is easy, its not the most responsive sometimes with his there is a touch of delay between when you punch the buttons and when the head unit reacts

All of the above.

Firstly, contact another TR member here by the name of j30a1t and ask him about his dealings with Prestige Camera. They are a grey market transshipper and not at all a Pioneer authorized online retailer. When you call customer service, you will see what I am talking about. They made the guy I just mentioned so uneasy that he cancelled his order after just speaking with them on the phone (and researching them online). Please stay away.

As the others said, the unit is great (we install MANY of these F90's and F900's and F700's weekly (we service many new car dealerships). You MUST have the version 2.0 update installed (free download from www.pioneerelectronics.com if you purchase an older unit). I took my guys to a Pioneer authorized dealer training seminar last night and we went over some really good points on these units.

The biggest difference between the Pioneer F900 and the F90 Premier piece is just that it comes with the iPod cable and a 2 year warranty. Cosmetically and mechanically they are identical.

I just sold through my first pallet of these units since July and I have had 0 defect returns. Not bad for a brand new product.

The good thing about purchasing this unit locally and having it installed by that knowledgable shop is that there is allot to this peice to understand. We spend many phone calls with previous customers after purchase that have questions or just get frustrated because they don't understand something (or they never brought it back for the updates).

The pieces have their qwerks but we have all of them worked out and have tweaked this unit quite nicely. The reason it is being sold ridiculously low online is because Pioneer is giving the dealers $100 cash back for every unit they sell right now. The online retailers have no overhead so they are just discounting it into the price and keeping Pioneers money for themselves. We now just install it for free with purchase. Easier to explain...
