amp problem

For subs, the only thing that matters is real power output. The more power the amp produces in excess of your subs maximum output, the cleaner it will produce sound when tuned to the rated output of your sub.

That said hifonics is nice, JL is nicer.

JL? I have a kicker L7 not a jl. That being said those tma amps aren't that much so whick would be better for my L7 application.the tma or hifonics. I have a 5 cube box ported at 33 herts

ALSO amp needs to be reliable and stable at 1 ohm

I'm sorry-I swore you wrote W7 not L7. My bad. Anyway, what Notladstyle was getting at was JL is one of very few companies whose amps actually produce the wattage numbers that they claim. Hifonics-not so much. Even though the TMA amps are produced overseas, JL has the MOSFETS and power supplies "hot rodded" as they call it so they will produce stated numbers just like their higher end stuff. The way it was explained to me-the TMA amps are somewhat remniscent of the old Rockford iron amps (remember-the ones that ran so hot they would burn carpets but they lasted forever).

I would stick with the TMA amps but of course I am a little biased. The bang for the buck factor is great. Just my experience...

nice i think ill go with that, so 1000watts at 1 ohm is really 1000 watts? is this stable and reliable at 1 ohm too? i know it is by jl so i think ill be safe

It is JL. I have seen them on the scopes. Usually, the actual output is a little higher even than they rate at 14v. Check your PM's.
