Well since you decided never to post again I don't have to remind you that fiberglass mat is weakest when formed perfectly flat. It adds absolutely nothing to the strength of the box =(

and for the second time, enclosure fail

Damn you guys don't give this guy a break. I must say the build quality on the box is pretty impressive coming from him. And otherwise some of you are giving him shit for no reason. There is nothing wrong at all with 2 subs in a single chamber ported, hell I have built tons of boxes like that, and seen 100s more like it. In fact it is easier, smarter, and just overall better really do it like that. As for the size of the box, 4.4 doesn't seem to big. Hell given the amp that is being used, it is probally smart to make the box that big. It's going to allow the subs to much more effieicent, so a ton of power won't be neccesary.

i was just a little concerned about the size cause im use to building small boxes for kicker subs ....but thanks for the info.

by the way (1stgen7) the box dose look good ...you are actually improving in build quality. For your previous post, don't delete post cause of criticizing, you have to take the good with the bad if your going to post your work....

Nothing wrong with a shared chamber in a ported enclosure...oh really?

Care to tell me what's wrong with it?

The only problem that even comes to mind is if one sub is too close to the port and it begins unloading, but sub placement would correct that.

Most subwoofers are designed to use air resistance to augment the subwoofer suspension.

no air resistance = no transients and very bad sounding music. especially with a low power amp.

thats why ported boxes "unload" at frequencies below their tune point - the air isnt moving fast enough to produce any back pressure on the subwoofer.

You didn't anwser my question, you just explained how a sub works and explained a little bit about ported boxes.
