I wonder how Best Buy is doing. And how the hell does Radio Shack stay alive?

 

Best Buy stocks rose a decent amount yesterday, I think they are doing pretty good lol.

 

Circiut City sucked anyways. Their shit was expensive. Can't say I feel sorry for anyone but the store workers and such who were just trying to get by.

 

Just checked out the store... prices are a joke right now... pretty much everything is only 10% off, if it doesn't already have a sale price. If it has a sale price, thats the price.

 

LOL.. the last thing i bought at CC was my cam.. got a smoking deal on it... even with the extended warranty..

As far as CC--BYE BYE and GOOD RIDDANCE! I feel bad for all those who are loosing their jobs but most of the electronics business (especially 12 volt) started in independant shops who had great customer service, and it is now being driven back there. I too shop at Best Buy when necessary for computer stuff, but some things are just better left to the PROS! Hence Sound Advice, Tweeter, Circuit City all dropping like flies. Their 12 volt departments could not keep up with OEM integration and were not allowed (or had the facility) to do deep custom fabrication. Head unit sales are less than half of what they were 8 short years ago-profit opportunities have shrunk up and the boxes did not have the customer service to keep them coming back or the where-with-all to expand their services. To this day, customers learn more about their electronics that were installed at a box store when they come in here for an upgrade then they were ever told upon initial installation.

There have also been rumors flying around about the Best Buy 12 volt departments being phased out also. They make up such a small percentage of the overall sales, profit margin is not high enough for corporate. Rumor from workers says that many of them are expanding their acoustic instrument departments (guitars, pianos, etc). Games like Guitar Hero and RockStar have been shooting those sales through the roof apparently. Only time will tell but I am sure Best Buy will be at the very least-shoring up their looser ends this year!

 

i also have heard the 12v at BB is shrinking and possibly going away, if they keep on there current track I would give them less than a year, you can not expect someone to wait 4-6 weeks for a apointment to have something installed. good luck and good by!
