Hey guys first time posting on this site i've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and finally decided to join.

Anyway i was just about to purchase 2 12" kicker CVR's from a friend (ported box included) for 150 bucks. I've been told this is a great deal and to jump on it so i'm probably going to buy them.

My question is what kind of amp do you think i should get to run these things and make them sound loud. they are 2 ohlm, i was thinking of a Kicker 750 Watt Class D Mono Amplifier but its 250 bucks and a little out of my price range.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank in advance guys.

 

The kicker would be a good choice and isn't all that expensive. Honestly, you get what you pay for. I'm sure you can find cheaper amps, but they also won't be putting out the power which they claim. There are no regulations in car audio, so manufacturers can say pretty much whatever they want. Don't skimp, or you'll just end up upgrading later on anyways.

hey great reply man thanks for that. I think your totally right and i'm definitley 100 percent going with the kickers.. now the only desicion to make is the amp. I know that its probably not the best but i think i'm going with a HIFONICS BXI1208D 2400W MONO AMP CLASS D AMPLIFIER its relatively cheap and will provide more than enough power. what do you guys think?

 

Hifonics makes decent amps for the money. Would probably be fine in your application.

 

Good choice... yes hifonics is one of the brands who overrate their amps a little bit, but they put out great power for the amount of money you spend on it...

 

yeah i would go with a hifonics 2400w and how much are you going to pay for the amp because i got two 12's CVRs wit a rockenfosgate of 1200 w but i cant tell is not pushing all the power out so im looking for a better amp LMK

 

your rockford 1200 amp probably pushes more than that hifonics amp, rockford are underated
