wow those are some large ports.

dont take this the wrong way but are you sure thats the recommended opening? it just looks too big for some ''cheap 15's''.

i will say this, i do appreciate a builder who goes overboard on bracing. those are nice and sturdy.

i only called them cheap because there not some high end line like jl or fi or somethng. i dont know how good power acoustik is but they sound real good in this sealed box now. if the new box is any improvment it'll be great! and they didnt cost very much-

 

with the prices true stereo shops charge today, this is what i would expect if i had a "custom box built"



but you too could have me build you a box, i put this much love in all my work.

 

Carpet? if not why paint port?

 

It's a pretty big port, if you dont paint the inside of it you'll see a lot of bare wood.....totally my guess, but that seems accurate.
