Default Speaker advice?

I just replaced my head unit in my 97 Civic. I am running a Sony CDX-GT660UP and I would like some more up to date speakers to compliment the new unit as cheap as it may be. I do not want anything too expensive. I am looking for something with clear sound and decent bass. The car came with some older PowerBass 6.5 and 6x9 coaxial speakers but when they are cranked up to 15 on the unit's volume control, there is a bit of distortion and the bass sounds "muffled". What are some good suggestions around the or less than $100 for 6.5 and under $150 for the 6x9? Like I said, I am not looking for over the top high end speakers. I just want an upgrade with crisp and clean sound with enough bass to sooth the ears.

Sagara09,

I have some options for your car from JL Audio and Alpine. I can't give the pricing on here but if you give me a call or stop in to the store I can let you listen to the different options and give you the TR member pricing.

I have had the option of becoming a Focal dealer and have carried them in the past. We carry Audison and Hertz for our higher end speakers. If you like the Focal speakers you will LOVE the Audison/Hertz speakers. I just sold my own personal Focal K2P speakers and I am putting the Audison speakers in instead.
