How badly worn are these? I'd like to reserve a set pending your response on their condition.

They have 3-4 heat cycles in them, tread is still decent but I would recomend some tire prep. (I normally prep them and wrap them in cellophane for a few days prior to use.) These tires don't really wear out, they heat cycle out so tread wear is generally not a problem.

Hello blacksheep-1 I am a newbie. Just what is involved in the tire prep.

Also...I'm looking for a set for a 2000 Corvette. Thanks for any and all replies

Sorry guys, I have not gotten any PMs and have been in NJ for a few weeks.

I don't live far from Webster so it's not a problem

Tire prep is just a way to let tires "live" a little longer, generally the absolute best life in a race tire is the first 3 laps, this is why you qualify on stickers, unfortunately this massive heat buildup also limits the usable life span of a race tire, if you "scuff" or slowly build heat in the tire for the first few sessions the tire will last longer, but it will never stick as good as a sticker tire. Tire "prep" or traction enhancer allows tires to last longer because they soften the tire, (this is why it's also illegal in spec tire classes) but for normal use, it extends the life of the tire.
