He said as much after an improbable fifth-place run at Mid-Ohio last year in the Xfinity Series.Next month, Lally will return to Mid-Ohio for his first of three Xfinity Series races this season. All three races will be on road courses, where he will drive the No. 90 for Mario Gosselin,“I couldn’t be happier to return to NASCAR competition,” said Lally. “Mario Gosselin and everyone at DGM Motorsports have been working to find a way to get me back behind the wheel.“I’m excited to get back and feel like we [have] unfinished business after the last two years. The team always does a great job getting the car prepared, and we’re all very focused on getting the most out of the effort.” Lally’s run at Mid-Ohio last year came with Bobby Dotter. In 2016, Lally finished seventh driving for Gosselin.In eight career Xfinity Series starts – dating back to 2007 – Lally has four top-10 finishes and one top-five. Three of his eight career starts have come at Mid-Ohio.After Mid-Ohio, Lally will compete at Road America on Aug. 25 where he has a seventh and 15th-place result in two previous runs there. Filling out Lally’s schedule will be the inaugural Xfinity Series race on the Charlotte road course Sept. 29.
