Is it Illegal???
i just wanted to know if its illegal to buy a bare frame and transfer all the parts from a wrecked bike over to the new frame?? the reason i ask is because i have a chance to pick up an 04 r6 for pretty cheap but the frame is shot.

i dont know it depeneds how do you go about getting it restamped??? because here in new york we have auto crimes so they might give me a hard time if im ridin around with no vins

Not realy sure about getting it restamped but i have heard of people doing it.
And if you do decide to ride around w/ no vins i hope you dont stop.... cause they are gunna give you one hell of a time. (impound bike and im sure the cop will be a dick and arrest you also)

buy a titled frame, and make sure the parts youre bebuilding with arent stolen, since they'll have the original vin on them. be wary if they're scratched off.
