Default Dropped & Stretched, Odd Front Tire Wear?

My friends 06 gsxr 1000 is dropped and stretched and his front tire is wearing really quick on the sides. His tire pressure was fine and the front forks were even. Could this be from the front not being low enough?

My 94 RF900 did the same thing and I never bothered to figure it out. That bike was at stock height in the front cuz it was too low in the rear to lower the front. It got hung up on speed bumps as it was.

Thanks,
Frankie

Unless I am missing something I am not sure how you could be wearing the edges of the front tire on a dropped and stretched bike. The edges of the tire have to make contact with the ground to wear out and I don't know how you would even get the edges in contact with a stretched and lowered bike. Seems like you would drag a peg first... Most people have the opposite problem, they wear out the middle of the tire and have to get new ones when they still have tons of good rubber on the edges.

Not so much the outer edges. Its the side of the tire that touches the road under normal riding. Like closer to the middle. It feels like the front end pushes when turning so its probably pushing the tire through the turn instead of just rolling through. His 1000 will drag the fairings and footpegs in corners though

Are you talking about cupping? If so, that's how front tires wear.

Clearly the problem boils down to 3 things:

1. Gixxer
2. Dropped
3. Stretched

Tell him to get rid of that P.O.S.

I just noticed serious cuppin on my front tire.Replacing it tomorrow.
What exactly makes that happen??

I check my pressure every 2-3 days so I never have low pressure.
Suspension is setup and the stearing is smooth.
I do have 10k+ miles on the front tire

No, it almost looks like a track day tire. It wore significantly in about 1200 miles.

Then the air pressure is way too low.
