Default This Sh*t Pisses Me Off! Rider Down!

I think someone was misinformed and I wanted to set the story straight. Link to article:

Tampabays10.com | Tampa Bay's Online News Leader | "Habitual traffic offender" causes fatal crash

Well, I heard about this last night because my BFF (EMT/Firefighter going to school for paramedic) was doing a ride-along with Tampa Fire Rescue and responded to this call. He basically said the same information as the article, except he said it was a cruiser of some sort, and he went into detail about the crash and his attempts to save him. He said that the Mercedes pulled out in front of the cruiser and they basically hit head on. The biker was ejected into the air, where his helmet flew off. He then hit the ground and so on.

If you want more details, read on, but with caution...

**GORE**
When paramedics (including my friend) got to the scene, they knew it was bad and he really didn't have a chance. He apparently had no pulse and was in [some other medical term where his body wasn't providing any electrical signal or something like that...] and had at least 3 fractured ribs, fractured skull, with brains leaking, and other compound and complex fractures on his appendages. They (mainly my friend) began CPR and attempted to resuscitate him anyways. Every time they gave him a breath, brain matter/blood came out of his head. He was pronounced dead on the scene or whatever else they call it.
**/GORE**

Then the family came... My friend said it was a million times worse seeing the family have to see the rider in the state that he was in then knowing he couldn't do anything for him.

This stuff is ridiculous and needs to be stopped. I don't understand why "an habitual traffic offender who was driving without a license" was even on the road to begin with. Then even after police charged Agosto with driving while license suspended involving death, and Violation of Right-Of-Way, this "habitual traffic offender who was driving without a license" is left to roam the street again! WTF?!?!? Why is nothing done about this kind of stuff? How many times must a person fuck up for people to change a law or just kick this guys ass? (I do not actually condone kicking his ass...) Between this kind of stuff and the increasing amount of old people really grind my gears.

Discuss...

I am an advocate for mandatory jail time for anyone found at fault in an accident involving fatalities... even if you are a first time offender. It does not have to be years in prison, but my God, how can we continue to just hand out a $100 ticket for failure to yeild and say have a nice day when they just killed someone!!!

i don't think every single person should get jail-time. i think it should be circumstantial...sometimes it's pure accident and that wouldn't be fair, but others like this guy who was not supposed to be on the road in the first place BECAUSE we was a danger to others should serve lots and lots of jail-time.

if i was the family, i would sue.

Not every accident involving fatalities, only accidents where a party is found at fault, so ticketed for the accident. The classic example would be failure to yeild. If you get a failure to yeild ticket for an accident that involved fatalities, you should go to jail IMHO.

I agree. If you have a gun and you accidentally kill someone with it, you go to jail. If you kill someone with a car, it should be almost the same thing.
