Default 122 in a 55 (ST RD 54) no speeding ticket

my morning starts off late to meet the group (as usual). I am hauling down 54 on sunday morning when i usually notice law enforcement is not tracking speeders so much and not much traffic.

I notice no one is behind me so i safely accellerate to my desired speed. Hauling for a little while and who do i see no more then 1 foot away from my back tire then Highway Patrol.

I was completely suprized and immediately pulled over... Sirens blairing, he is screaming at me to get off my bike. Another officer pulls up. He says "you were trying to run". I said no sir, i promise i looked back a little while ago and no one was behind me, i looked back and i saw you. He then said "you probably could have heard me without those head phones". truth be told, anyone with a X-11 cant hear shit besides wind noise. I didn't argue and completely admitted i was wrong for speeding, WHICH I WAS COMPLETELY IN THE FUCKING WRONG.

He asked for my registration which i did not have, no big deal he says...

He comes back and i am calmly talking to his partner that i have the utmost respect for cops that are cool... blah blah

He says, i could take you to jail, but instead, im writing you 2 tickets, one for the headphones and one for the registration. He said, "i know you guys like to go fast but just DONT RUN. I also appreciate the fact you have an endorsement, that shows me you care about safety. Watch your speed and have a great day!" Both cops were cool as hell!!!

Long story short, everything will cost me 100 bucks and i am one lucky duck. Don't run, you do have a chance if you stop... i am still in awe of this.

take care,

navi

your lucky, most of those where they start by screaming that you were trying to run storys start with being tackled off the bike when you pull over even before you can get your helmet off so say something.

always seemed weird to me that a cop can follow you and not be able to tell if your running or just riding above the speed limit. I figured they can, they just like pulling the run card because all rules go out the window when they say that.

im 99% sure one is legal..

so we were riding tonight..rode relatively close to the speed limit most of the night and couple of people took off so the rest of us did...only got up to about 80 when cop lights come on behind us... "oh shit" ...cop gets behind the girl to my back left she starts to pull over, he goes around her..gets behind me.."SHIT!" i pull over and come to a stop..he goes around me and pulls over my friend...so rest of us leave...they catch up to us 15 min later sayin the cop was cool about it because he stopped and him and his passenger were wearing gear and he was being polite... (o and apparently it would have been a 580$ ticket, were in a 50 mph area, 19)

just another story about how some cops can be cool
