This is the internet. You're just supposed to talk up whatever you do know as if you're a salesman for it. i.e. I drive a Supra and a Corolla therefore 2JZ is the greatest and so is the 4A and I don't care about anything else because it's all crap since I don't have it. I also have a stack of $20 bills in front of me, therefore 20>50 and 20>100 and 20>1000. $20 bill FTW.
the block was not sleeved......the only h series block that needs to be sleeved is the h22a4...this is the h22a1
ttt i really need this car gone....

yep, the h22a1 is closed deck, but that doesnt really have much to do with it, FRM is FRM. all H series motors, S2K motors and late model NSK motors have fiber reinforcedn metal sleeves aka FRM. its not a matter of debate, its a matter of fact. FRM was used to keep the block size down, while providing structural rigidity to the cylinder sleeves since they were so close together. .
wiseco has developed a forged piston to run in FRM applications by using a coating on the ring lands and piston skirting BUT it doesnt seem to be working
read about the problems here with the wiseco's, starts off good but towards the end of the thread it gets ugly. seems they arent lasting.

I've seen threads on HT that state there are companies that offer forged pistons w/coatings to work with FRM. *shrug*
