1980 Jeep Cj-5 Mudder
HAHA, well Matt it was very "interesting ride home" I thought I was going to die on the interstate and I supposed she didn't have quite enough oil in her to make the 60 mile trek back to the house. I was cruising down the road and it started losing power then I heard the motor getting a knocking sound so I pulled over and low and bhehold there was NO oil on the dipstick, just some metal shavings. I went back to the house and got 4 quarts of oil and put it in and she fired right up, no knocking, just a HELL OF ALOT OF SMOKE. HAHA, I htought I was James Bond with smoke screen. ANyways, it made it back to my house at about 1am. She is getting a heart transplant, i'll see if I can sweeze a 305 or 350 in that thing, if so, yeeee haaw!
WOW, it was fun though. It still runs just have to put more oil than gas in it. haha.

God damned I just did an oil change a week ago....
And I really wish I could have stuck a 350 in her but you know the problem I had going on with the rents.... lol. Sorry that you had probs getting home.

hey its no biggie man, it still runs. I should have stopped and checked the oil half way home knowing that it burns oil like it does, but oh well, whatcha gonna do? I researched and I am now hunting for a 305 or 350 since they DO bolt up to the current tranny. Just have to take it easy since they are light duty trannies. It'll be a fun project.
