Default SCC quote on drifting

Just thought this was hilarious. It was in the "Answers of the Month" column.

Question: Is drifting a passing fad or is it here to stay?

Answer: Drifting is a passing fad. Not only that, but i view drifting as the worst fad since pogs. each night, before i go to sleep, i pray to whatever deity might be listening that the blight that is drifting be lifted from the exciting world of sport compacts. i can only hope that my prayers be answered.

agree or disagree, the guy is funny

I believe it is a fad for like 95% of the people now, which is fine, but once it passes we will still be standing.

i'm not 100% into the drifting thing, but here's my take from the outside.

drifting looks like fun. but i don't think it is a real sport because the scoring isn't measureable (1/4 ET, lap time, etc). i feel the same way about 1/2 pipe skateboarding competitions. fun, but not a sport.

the only other thing that i noticed is that it seems like *** EVERYONE *** wants to do a silvia swap into a 240. i would agree that it is a fad. plus, it seems like there are TONS of people in this forum who don't actually have drift cars. like they are...wanna be drifters. some have owned 240s at one time and sold them, or broke them, but don't have them anymore.

Yeah it sucks that ive not had a money to do an SR swap until now.. and it appears that i'm a part of the "bandwagon" when in reality I just got sidetracked by real life

Once you get to know these people you can pick out the fadders compared to the real drifters.

2 years ago in the back of builders square with me, rob, bill, taka, bumpin, taylor and a few others..... that wasnt a fad, but now it is and it will pass in some way sooner or later.

like in tampa how autocross was a fad for sometime, and now the only people that still go are like 2% of us.
