Here are a few photos from the Cigar City Flatheads Winterfest weekend. The first one is my ’39 Ford Convertible Sedan with the 1929 Ford Tri-Motor at the Brooksville – Tampa Airport. Second is a view of some of the cars at the Coney Island Hot Dog Stand in Brooksville. Third is a shot of cars parked at the Winery. Fourth is a gathering of cars at Keith’s house. Fifth is my friend Dick Bednar’s ’39 Ford Coupe. Sixth is Al’s ’47 Caddy. Postponing KMC March meeting until April 18
It looks like the prudent thing to do for now is to postpone Keystone Motor Club Meetings
for a while. Let's skip March and move to April 18 2020...........and see how things look at that time.

It looks like a two week self quarantine (except for necessary trips and uber deliveries), is probably a good idea, since we are told it takes two weeks for The Communist Chinese Corona Virus (we are not allowed to politically correctly say Chinese or we are racist) to die off,......... if we don't renew contacts. Some people are saying that by mid summer, every flu virus dies off anyway.
Far more people die from the flu every year.......but fake news doesn't dare waste the latest "crisis"
by being honest.

It will be an American company that will solve the problem, since we still allow US drug companies to make a Capitalist profit......money which is used for research and development. That does not happen in socialist paradises where people have to eat garbage, where there are no bathrooms, and people can go their whole lifetime without ever taking a shower. A cure will NOT be found in socialist paradise free-medicare-for-all-Cuba or Venezuela where each night they wash out their disposable rubber gloves and hang them out to dry.....or countries without any hospitals.

I don't plan to live in fear, but I am staying away from crowds. I have no idea why suddenly we need 32 rolls of toilet paper (years supply for two people) and 20 gallons of water. Maybe soon some people will be panic-buying guns and ammunition to protect their toilet paper and bottled water.

I count this as a blessing from God that by staying at home, away from crowds,
it gives me extra time to work on car stuff, and reorganize my parts room....where I just found
the missing Aluminum brake drums, that I had "mis-placed",......... since I never lose anything. LOL.

Mecum will offer Ken Miles Shelby GT350R at May 12-17 Indy auction

By Vintage Motorsport | March 11, 2020 1:55 PM The awe-inspiring collection of John Atzbach — highlighted by the first 1965 Shelby GT350R Competition Model built, known as the “Flying Mustang” — was announced Wednesday as a headlining attraction of Dana Mecum’s 33rd Original Spring Classic, May 12-17 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.

The announcement opened Mecum’s Glendale auction that runs through Saturday.

Atzbach’s GT350R was driven by Ken Miles at Green Valley Raceway on Feb. 14, 1965, marking the first time any Shelby Mustang was entered into a sanctioned competitive event. As Miles drove the car to a dominating first-place finish, he was captured in one of motorsports history’s most memorable photos showing the Mustang airborne with all four tires completely off the ground.

The first competition Shelby Mustang, the first to be raced and the first to win, 5R002 served as Shelby American’s rolling test bed for ideas and components, including those that would constitute both the second team car (5R001) and all 34 customer R-models. Ken Miles, Bob Bondurant, Chuck Cantwell, Peter Brock, Jerry Titus and several other world-class drivers drove this car extensively in testing and development.

Atzbach is well-known in the collector car hobby and prolifically recognized as an authority on all things Shelby; his memorabilia collection is — without a doubt — the most extensive and encompassing assemblage of Shelby artifacts known to exist, while the cars offered represent an array of the most historic and significant Shelby Mustangs available anywhere on the market in many years.

neglected. This old cat needed a second wind, but how? Its got a Stuck 289... rotted frame... what could possibly be done? How about Unseizing the engine? There's lots of people who go through the process of pouring fluids down the cylinder only to have no luck in the end...

So we thought, what can be done to take things one or a few steps further? Strip the heads off... but that doesn't mean it'll free up! What else could possibly be done? Well, what's everyone's go to when removing rusted stubborn nuts/ bolts? You Guess It! Oxy-Acetylene! We

put the heat to this 289SBF and make it free once again! Anyone could've said, Scrap it... went and picked up a 5.0L roller engine and called it a day! But I wanted to do this as a little experiment! Will it run... I don't see why not! Will it run great? Probably not, but like I said...

most would've sent it to the metal scrap! Anyways stay tuned for the next episode to see if we can get this Ol Cougar to purr once again!

Don, Thanks for the reply. Most car clubs are held together by a mutual enjoyment of cars. Most friends are also tolerant of differences of opinion, as well as tolerant of differences in their cars. An example would be in the movie Fast and Furious, their bond of friendship was stronger than their differences in cars. If you have an opposing point of view maybe with some specifics, I am willing to listen. -Bob

  Knowing nothing about an Essex, I would be trying plenty of WD40 or Blaster. Lubing every possible place where metal touches metal. Drain the trans oil, fill with penetrating oil, or mineral spirits, and working things back and forth like loosening a stuck bolt. Why is it called cork fluid clutch?
