And he is teaching his kid how to do the same.....at a very early age.

If you had the money and the time, you would do the same for your kid too.
We all want our kids to do better than we have done.

They have the same conversations as the grown up professionals.
Same safety equipment, same electronics readout to analyze the car, etc.
They have the same crew, same preparation, they even have the same winners trophy ceremony....
Pour stuff all over the kid just like pouring champagne over the real racers at Daytona.
Photos and cheering,........ hold that trophy high.......give credit to others.....just like the professionals do.

Did you notice that dad has secured sponsorship....look at the decals, etc.
Wearing a $500 helmet....and Bell logos all over it, including next to his face...both sides.
There is a lot to be learned here from watching the video....

The dirt and drifting sideways develops a fine feel for what a car is doing in a limits-of-control situation.

When I was Tech Inspector at Orlando Speedway
years ago NASCAR's Mark Martin made 11 million dollars per year.
He had a 3 man crew drive his son to race tracks near where dad was racing the big cars
and to maintain his son's car.

3 races per Friday or Saturday night, and Matt had at least 5 kids cars
(Bandelero cars powered by lawnmower engines)
in the top of the hauler, spare parts, tires, tools, the whole deal.
That means if your kid crashes with Matt, Matt is coming back, but your kid won't be back until next week.
At 15 years, Matt Martin became a contract driver for Ford Motor Company.

22 points ˇYeah, I was covering some of Matts races in Florida and he pretty much just woke up one day and was like "Dad, I don't want to do this anymore." And unlike some of the racing parents who pretty much force their kids to race, Mark was super cool about it. If my memory serves me right, Mark was running two SLMs as a joint venture with Bobby Ginn's development program and just scaled it back to the #4 car for Ricky Carmichael after that.

After you torch it, spray it with more penetrating oil. The heat will draw it into the bolt hole. Also smack the bolt heads with a hammer a few times before you try loosening them.

I drove my vehicle for a week knowing I had to replace the exhaust manifold, I sprayed the bolts everyday with penetrating oil. The next week when I went to remove them, they all came out super easy.

The heat expanded the head and manifold after driving and since there was more heat in those areas verses the bolt the oil was drawn into the areas that needed the lube. I learned a long time ago that you heat where you want the oil to go.

I did have one bolt that was broke on the bottom back side, no idea how long it was broke or missing but since I was spraying it anyway when I tacked on a nut, it came right out also. Nice video, keep them coming.

You are invited to a Keystone Motor Club party that you just don't want to miss. Mark your calendars now for Dec. 19, 2020 10AM to noon or so. The WOK—Women of Keystone are busy planning a Wassailing Party. What is Wassailing you ask? Wassailing is a traditional Anglo-Saxon ancient custom of offering a hot apple cider drink that included cream, apples, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, oranges, and all sorts of non-alcohol secret ingredients to wish "to your good health.” Caroling is optional, and the courageous may do one brief entertaining song...lol Along with the Hot Wassailing, we will have little tree cakes, and Winn Dixie Christmas cookies for everyone.

As promised, everyone who attends the Keystone Motor Club, will receive a donated Christmas mystery gift, along with chances for numerous door prizes, and the 50/50 raffle. Christmas attire is optional, but it would be fun to see several Santas spreading cheer. So, we hope to see everyone on Dec. 19, at 10:00 a.m. at 17649 Gunn Highway and Van Dyke road, on the east side of Winn Dixie parking lot. We'll flag you in over the finish line! What we did on November 21 3rd Saturday Keystone Motoring Club
Hi Bob.
Happy to post a little bit about the Keystone Motor Club and their monthly get together on the third Saturday morning (10 AM-noon or so....) Winn-Dixie, Gunn Highway and Van Dyke Road. No Dues, no requirements, You just need to be a motorhead 🙂

🙂 “thank you’s” go out to (in no particular order) Bob Vail for generally arranging things. Gen for her delicious Chili, and for a bunch of giveaways. Isabella for taking pictures. Our Thanksgiving Chili Cookout on Nov. 21 was full of surprises. The WOK, the Women of Keystone, provided meaty chili and delivered hot cornbread. We had 16 door prizes of all sorts, 2 kid's packs, and the 50/50 drawing! Lots of new faces and returning of old friends in freshly washed cars. All cars were received with the finished line checkered flag. What fun!

Our next car show will be Dec. 19 with a Wassailing Party, more door prizes, and everyone will receive a donated mystery gift. More on the Wassailing Party in next notice. Until then, remember there is something for everyone. See you then!

The 50-50 was operated by Earl Baker who brought Debbie Baker in their 1950 Ford.
After door prize bags were given out, all tickets were put back in the container, shuffled and the 50/50 ticket was drawn. The pot was won by Joe Avanzato who donated $5 to the club, and thanks to all donations we collected $33 which brought a total $109 into the KMC treasury. This is the public acknowledgement at post # 316 in the Keystone newsletter: Bob Vail is voluntarily holding the total amount of $109 for the club.

We will be starting the New Years day Intercoastal tour from Sunset Park, Tarpon Springs
(A straight shot to the West from Odessa) and taking some back roads alongside the Intercoastal
waterway to Madiera Beach, St Pete.
We will have printed directions for each participant and we will need a tour leader to step up
as KTM (Keystone Tour Master) for the day.
