2K subscribersBefore there were tape decks, there was the record player for cars, the Highway Hi-Fi . This was a Chrysler Corp. only option. About 18,000 were produced but it was troublesome and did not perform that well.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
It's great to see so many car shows include a toy drive.It got me thinking about my first toys that I remember. So much of what I played with influenced my life now. I don't recall asking for them, they just appeared under the tree. Santa knew what I needed.

My favorite toys were the Lincoln Logs, Tinkertoys, and the basic Legos. These helped develop my mechanical abilities and created a vision in building and decor. I used these skills in creating a successful artificial floral design business.

My next favorite toy was my collection of Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars. I don't remember how it started but I had a case full of them. The best part was the plastic track with the loop in the middle. I would attached them all together, down the long hallway, and drape them over the couch cushions to simulate hills. Cars would go flying and bounce off the hallway walls. Of course, that was the beginning of my love affair with classic cars.

So it is important to put some thought into the toy giving process because that toy may influence the direction of the child's life choices, as it did mine.

The Keystone Motor Club is going to ring in the New Year, 2021 with a “Video Party!” Our members have the adrenaline rush, the mean machines, and the need for speed and danger. So January is going to be your chance to pick up an exciting video with just that...cars at their finest, of course on video, you understand. Attendees will have a chance at several NASCAR videos, James Dean, “Live fast, Die Young, Kart Racers, Hot Rod Girl, T-Bird Gang, and everyone's favorite video, “Fast and Furious.” Leave a car video, take a car video.
Since January may be a bit chilly, the WOK, Women of Keystone are serving hot GI coffee, Hot tea, some Winn Dixie cookies, and bags of popcorn to go along with the videos you get to take home. We may have a silent auction for some videos with the proceeds going to the KMC. Everyone is invited to participate and have fun on January 16 at 10:00 a.m. at 17649 Gunn Highway and Van Dyke Road on the east side of Winn Dixie parking lot. We'll flag you in at the finish line! See you all at our Video Party!

Well...... my step son Nick loves seeing the stuff I build! But he’s not really too interested. However, his girlfriend is nuts about cars! They live in Brooksville and they’re only blocks from Main St. the last time my wife and I visited them there was a car show there. It’s a small one but it’s right there on Main St. they have on Saturday it may be a weekly thing or we just got lucky and caught one well we’ll see this Saturday when we visit there. Hey I’m in the middle of finishing up a 1957 Ford Custom 300 2/dr Sedan. Been working on it for 3 years on and off, but now I’m about to put paint in it I’m excited it’s gonna be a Tri Tone 3 colors, Orange Pearl, Tan, and pure Gold real 50s Hot Rod. I’ll keep you posted.
