I get handed names of cool car clubs, but I wonder if I'm irritating the ones who never respond.
Some emailed back. Some clubs have stopped by to promote their event and pass out flyers. Some have not.
We all benefit by promoting our car events.

On September 18 2021 at Keystone Motor Club,
Red ticket Grand Prize will be a set of Mechanics Brand Gloves...the ones that you can pick up a dime with and a guaranteed $25 in the 50/50. Don't want to pick up dimes? Use them for gardening. or changing tires... lol


Other $1 Red ticket giveaways will be in-the-box-new from Mikasa Crystal and American Crystal
Collection...which can also be used to keep extra nuts and bolts in. lol..... Free Collector Car and Street Rod magazines. Free car themed refrigerator magnets.

Free BBQ sandwiches from Mission BBQ...ask for details. Congratulations to John and Carol Berti for getting the inside cover of Motoring Tampa Bay. Limited number will be available for autographs until they are gone.

On September 18 2021 at Keystone Motor Club,

Actually that was Chuck Berry. Pardon me folks, I just spent the weekend listening to
50's and 60's Rock and Roll...... that's my excuse. : ) lol

As I was motivatin up Gunn Highway on my way to Keystone Motor Club,
I saw the largest single raindrop ever, splatted right on my windshield in front of me.
I'm thinking: Thank goodness it wasn't a bird taking a poop!

The night before, I had emailed the Keystone Rain Plan to the membership.

When I left that morning in the fully loaded and mercifully loaned pickup truck of Gen Rummy, the sky was overcast but not raining, and I was glad that I sent out the plan....and it was not raining.

By the time I drove into the parking lot at Winn Dixie at Gunn Hwy and Van Dyke, it was a different story. It was raining.

On the trip up Gunn Hwy I had been hoping that I would not be the only person there. I had in my pocket the guaranteed $25 for the 50/50 and a Gift Certificate from Rock Auto Parts.com. I had promised that if only one person showed up, that person would get the Best Of Show trophy, the guaranteed cash and the Gift Certificate. Man was I surprised.

The parking lot was filled.
I'm thinking how blessed I am that all these wonderful car loving fanatics came out today.
Immediately some of them jumped in and set up two tents, tables, and all the stuff that goes on them.
Then the rain quit.

By the 11AM deadline, I had signed in everyone who wanted to, for the NO ENTRY FEE car show,
the five or six Corvette guys had held a handiwork demonstration/class/BS session on a unique project under the rear hatch of a mid engine 'Vette, Milt Roorda had hand-cranked up three of his vintage outboard motors as a demonstration, and Denise Johnson of Gulf Coast Cruisers had taken pictures and a video for their GCC newsletter, //www.tamparacing.com/forums/event-coverage/844895-newsletter-gulf-coast-cruisers.html....and their facebook page

Both Vic Piano and Rosemary Roorda had their hoods open on "new" rides. Vic to show the nicest show engine I ever saw on a 1940 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet, and Rosemary's 36 Buick coupe had the only straight 8 seen by me.....ever. I'm wondering if the Buick has to be double clutched or if it has a synchronized manual transmission. Vic had his Hot Rod featured in the center section of September's Motoring Tampa Bay, along with Rickster, and John Berti's Corvette in other issues.

As is the Keystone custom we gave a few moments for car clubs to speak about their club and/or what they are doing such as the Hope For Children Ministry car show on 25 September at QSL and the newly formed Gulf Coast Cruiser Club.

Wesley Shallow got his 69 Camaro wet to win Best of Show, and the gift certificate went to
Dr She of HFTCM. The rainy day 50/50 was operated by Dick Peterson and paid $40 to the winner.
The trophies for the Herb and Carol Wagner Memorial Car Show are getting bigger, if anyone has not noticed....and next month's October Best Of Show will be over two feet tall.

People could stay, or BS and visit as long as they wanted to at Winn Dixie. John Berti, the Roordas, Vic Piano, Dick Peterson and a few others helped me reload Gen Rummy's pickup truck, and Milt's outboards. Gen Rummy will return after her knee heals.

1. God blessed Keystone Motor Club for over TWO YEARS with Florida sunshine.
We are sincerely greatful,......... so Think NO negative waves for the car show.

2. We register substitute cars in the NO ENTRY FEE car show.
So drive something that doesn't mind water if you think you need to.

3. If only one person shows up, (It might even be you)
One person gets the guaranteed $25 in the 50/50 AND gets the trophy AND the GRAND PRIZE.

4. "Do you feel lucky"......... as Clint Eastwood says?.....
Then thank God for Sunshine again tomorrow, and register for the car show at 930AM.

Keystone Motor Club listens to you.
I don't like to let a good idea get away from me.
I don't like even a bad idea to get away from me.
Most of the time EVERY idea works and you can even talk to me about it.
You can ask any question, make your case, and if you want to remain anonymous, you can also do that.

I take full responsibility for not drawing tickets at exactly 11AM.
I need to get better, faster, and maybe have an assistant to help me.
Maybe sign people in for the No Entry Fee car show over near the tables instead of walking around.
I would like to take credit for leaving before noon every meeting, but
other people helping out is how we are able to do that.
The helpful people deserve the credit.

This morning Dick Peterson agreed to sell the red 50/50 and door prize tickets.
Gen is always at the WOK/Women Of Keystone refreshment table, talking to people,
flagging people in, and helping with a lot of things.
Gen will now be freed up to go through the crowd and visit some, too.
If starting the ticket draws exactly at 11AM is important, I need someone to announce it to the crowd as we approach 11AM and also to remind me to cut off the blue ticket NO ENTRY FEE car show entries slightly before 11AM.

On September 18, Keystone Motor Club members will have a bit more time to get to another car show, or get to lunch sooner, and still leave early, before 12 noon.

As a result of listening, Keystone has a special theme every meeting.
We have a "finish line" and a checkered flag to greet drivers.
We have a disc player for period correct music fitting our vintage cars.
We have a posted schedule on a bulletin board.
We have two separate containers for red and blue tickets so drawings go faster and
we don't have to swap or dump out tickets from containers.
We have a community Facebook and a members restricted Facebook page.
We have bigger tables for free magazines, trophies, tickets, fridge magnets, free BBQ cards, and prizes.
