Newbie looking for a mechanic specializing in aftermarket Fuel Injection.
Hello Tampa! I'm looking for suggestions for someone to install an aftermarket fuel injection system on my classic Volvo. I live in Brandon but I work on Macdill, so anywhere nearby is fine.
The system: SDS EM-4F, I have pretty much all of the parts. Was in the process of installing it when I had to throw everything in boxes and move.
The Car: 73 Volvo 144, rebuilt engine with 93MM pistons and lots of head work. Started with Bosch fuel injection, but it couldn't keep up after the engine rebuild. Started installing SDS, but had an unexpected move from Tacoma, WA back to Tampa (grew up here). Didn't have time to finish the project, and probably never will. Had to throw a Weber 38/38 on it to drive it down.
The Mechanic I need: Professional worker Don't do ANYTHING half-arsed. I would prefer you know something about SDS, but at least be versed in tuning other fuel injection systems.

Check out our shop forum. There is a Euro shop over in Lutz that may be able to assist.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
