Plus, how do they justify people with wraps or toppers on their trucks. I've seen numerous cars running around with banner wraps covering rear & side windows where you can't see shit.

Ditto,.. I have 5% tint on everything. You cant see inside any of the vehicles no matter what. But when ever I got pulled over,.. (was always for speeding) I immediately rolled the windows down so hopefully they wouldnt notice the tint. Never had any problems with them hassling me about tint.

heres on an odd question. I work at a shop and I have a few cars come in from time to time that have dark tint. If im out on a test drive in their car and a cop pulls me over for the tint, and I explain to him on just on a test drive, its not my car. What could I do if he gave me a ticket, or could he really give me one?

I think the ticket would be given to the person that the car is register to.

^^ i don't think so... i borrowed a friend's car and got pulled over. cop decided to do a vehicle inspection. one headlight was out and the horn didn't work... i got the tickets.

Now, if the officer was resonable, and you could prove to him you were a grease monkey just testing the car, he would probably not stroke you, but....."technically", they could.
Oh, for what it's worth, I tried removing tint from car windows myself once and it was a BITCH!!!!
I would recommend just taking it to a tint shop and they'll remove the old for a small fee and just get the new, legal tint at the same time.
