now this guy is on CRACK!!!
Basicly, you can take a car such as this one in the ad, and take all the vins and if you use ONE vin identified part, you can build a whole car around it and call it that car. If the title is cheap enough, it CAN be worth it. If you have enough donor parts etc, then it can pay off. It usually doesn't, but it can. Plus, yes, you CAN build a whole car from a catalog now. Immagine where you could go with the car building it from scratch. Then calling it an "original" with title and everything. If you do it with a current title, then go to apply for title transfer, it never says "kit" on it anywhere. Whereas if it's a kit car, then it says something about when it was built. I forget what it says though. I had a kit car once....Got rid of it. Fukin POS.

maybe so but that may be a grey area. didn't unique get busted and shut down for that? plus using one piece with a stamped vin and calling the car original is fraud. sell it as an original car and the new owner finds out your going to wind up in court.
So what good is the title with virtually no car? Attach the serial to a car with no title?[/quoteBasicly, you can take a car such as this one in the ad, and take all the vins and if you use ONE vin identified part, you can build a whole car around it and call it that car. Listing the car as restored would not be illegal though.
Shame what the classic market has turned into. How ever,. someone will pay for that title and probably do just that. Built a new body and move the vin number over to it. Year one sells rolling chassis of 60's Mustangs and Camaros. They dont include vin numbers so are reserved for racing only. But wouldnt be hard to register one with that title and data plate if its still intact.
