Default Damn thieves...

This has nothing to do with cars, but has to do with stealing. For my girlfriend and I's most recent anniversary, I bought her a nice bracelet from Tiffany's (in the broke sumbitch section, not the new car price section ). She's been in Orlando for the past few days with family, staying in a hotel. She calls me this morning hysterical - apparently one of the cleaning ladies who was in the room stole the bracelet. Why she had it just sitting somewhere while she was out, I have no idea. She sat there apologizing for losing it, which I thought was crazy. I'm not upset about it, just pissed that less than a month after buying it, some cleaning bitch goes and steals it.

Thieves are shit, discuss any stories you might have!

did you call the hotel manager, they probably have room assignments for the cleaning staff and know who was in the room.

Staff's been talked to, management's been talked to, police report has been filed, but that's really all that can be done. Unfortunately, there is no solid evidence - without video footage of the maid taking the bracelet, it's just a he-said-she-said situation. Sucks, but shit happens I guess.

That happened to us in the Bahamas --- they had "someone for everything", pounding at the door or entering when we left --- bad news ... never got our item back! GL

Thief stories:

I wish we could punish the POS's --- they always seem to win (get off light, get away) in our Advance Auto stores. I hate that shit ... I work and pay, they seem not to do anything for society but increase our cost for their pleasures!

I know, I know. However, after talking more about it last night when she came back from Orlando, it was an honest mistake. Basically, her aunt told her they'd be putting out the do not disturb sign, so she left the bracelet (normally she doesn't leave anything in a hotel room that's of any value). Her aunt, however failed to tell her that she couldn't find the sign.

I'm not expecting to get it back. I was in the criminal justice academy all through high school, and I know that in certain legal situations, you're just shit out of luck.

That sucks. If only the health care reform bill were passed and in effect, the cleaning lady would not have felt the need to steal in order to have a more fulfilled life. Bad timing I guess.

Should of stayed in the not so broke part of Orlando that at least has a safe in the room. I leave nothing in a hotel room, I've had clothers stolen.
