Its all good. Tommy's been on my ass for a few months now. Seems everything I post irritates him some how. Where I only get a little flustered by his remarks.

I dont think there is any real tension here. At least not from my side. We've been trading these little jabs back and forth for a while now. Yet some how we've kept it civil and dont cross the line.

You know the funny thing is the v-6 makes it peak tq like 1750rshared_pm faster then either the 5.0l or the 6.2l.

As for the diesel and the boost thing it's like dave said they are built differently then the gas motors and can stay underboost for long periods without the issues of a gas motor.

I'm not saying it definitely won't work. But before they get $40k+ of my money (if it ever even happens), I'll want to see how it holds up to towing a real load.

Trust me, I'd love a truck that can get 20mpg in daily driving and still be able to hook up a big trailer.

Ford is putting a lot of stock into the Ecoboost. I really dont think they are going to shot themselves in the foot since they are finally turning around. But the Ecoboost is reportedly supposed to cost more as an option over the 5.0 motor

First off i hate the term ECO-BOOST. Like everyone on the planet doesnt know a boosted small displacement motor will make more power and get better efficiency than a larger displacement one. Not exactly news there.

As a mechanic i like the KISS theory. I cannot imagine how expensive or how hard this motor is too work on. The 4.6/5.4 werent powerhouses and didnt get the best fuel mileage but they are super reliable and easy/cheap to work on.

Looks interesting. I had a 98 F150 with the 4.2 5 speed. That thing was abused, and lived 140k to tell about it. She even towed a bobcat through the Arkansas hills with no problem what so ever. If this engine is better than that one, it should be able to do just about anything you want to do with it.

Got hooked up to go test drive them with the Ford dealers when they head down here. Think it's going to be in Orlando like when they had the new Expedition, F150 and old Cobra.
