From seeing other videos, he has on borrowed time whether he had bars or not. That video of the crash was an 1/8 mile race and he pulled the stunt at the 1/4
Seeing pictures of that car and knowing that the cage was the only reason he survived still doesnt make you want a cage at all?
For me its like when I preach about putting personal GPS units in your car in case it were ever to be stolen you could go after it. Then people still put it off and put it off until finally someone loses their car to a thief and then they say the wish they had a GPS in it. Its too late then.

Yeah I watched his other vids as well. Seems he was used to the car lifting at mid track and just riding it out. I saw at least 6 different vids where the car was lifting mid track. There is a good one on Youtube where he lifts,.. comes down and hits it again and all 4 wheels are at least 3 - 4 feet in the air. It was insane to watch. I would have shit my pants at those speeds.

I agree with Shaun. IMO driving a daily driver on the street with a rollcage near your head w/o a helmet is more dangerous than racing a car down the track w/o a cage.
By NHRA rules a STOCK Z06, ZR1, Viper, GT500s etc should have roll bars in them because of the times/MPH they run? That is just not practical IMO.
At the track (10-20 times a year)i wear a fire jacket and helmet. If i get kicked out i will not complain but i will NOT but a 6 point in my daily driver (high ten second car).
Glad the driver is OK, it sucks about the car.
And crushing your skull between the seat head rest and the asphalt or ground as the roof and structure of the car rips away from around you is a better alternative than hitting your head on a padded bar?

I can undersand with a 10pt or more in a street car can be dangerous, but if your car is capable of running the times, put at least a 6 point in it. Some people are just anti cage in thier "street" car.
this is why mt prod-junk is taking a while, the chassis will be superior to my motor set up this time around and all saftey stuff will be above specs.
