Default Anyone visiting the junk yards...

If you happen to see a Lincoln Mark in the yard, can you post up and let me know. I need some parts off the rear. I am going to try and search them next week if not.

Thanks

Are you looking for a mark VII or mark VIII? I'm into lincolns so I pretty much keep up on what's in stock in the U-pull-it yards. currently there are no mark VII's in any of the LKQ yards but they do have one sitting in the "holding area" of the St. pete location.
If you're looking for mark VIII's , off the top of my head i know there are at least 3 at the tampa location, 3 at the 40th street location, 2 at the Bradenton location and I think there is 1 at the st. pete location. Keep in mind that they change their inventory constantly . One day there could be 3 lincolns and the next day there could be none.

There was a nice Black MK VIII in the Clearwater LKQ on Saturday. Also a tan one I think. What are you looking for? I've got some MK VII rear brake stuff.

1st or 2nd week in January my wife and I will be rummaging through different junk yards to see what we can find to save money with on my 93.

We're planning to make a couple days out of it. Hitting them all between here and Orlando. If there is anything in particular your looking for, just let me know, I can pick it up for you and bring it back to New Port Rickety so you dont have to run all over town. Unless you need it sooner,.. well,.. cant help you there.

I would have called, but I didn't think you would have that....

Ok, here is the story and parts needed. When I converted to 5 lug, rear disc brakes, I read about this deal on the web. Buy fox lenght axles or ranger axles, take Lincoln Mark VII backing plates, calipers, mounting brackets, and rotors. Reverse the mounting brackets, screw them to the backing plates, screw in and grind the heads down (because they are now facing the rotor side), and weld them in place. Then mount the calipers and go.... It worked like a charm!
So, I had bought some fox lenght 31 spline axles, Auburn diff, and a smaller gear. Went to put everything to and the axles were not quite fox lenght. They were 3/4 of an inch too long. So this throws off my rotor and where that fits in caliper.
I can't shim anyting, because I welded the bracket to the backing plate.

So I need the backing plates and the mounting brakets for the Mark VII calipers. Would also like the e-brake cables, to see if I can have an e-brake again.

Revon87GT, can you tell me if that hardware is the same between the Mark VII and Mark VIII?

Hurst, I may take you up on that. I will let you know if Tony has me covered!!!

I've got the whole nine yards for the flipped MK VII swap except that I just sold my axles to SpankerEasy. You had the wrong "Fox" length axles. Sounds like you had Turbo Coupe axles (the TC's are Foxes ya know) or late model Ranger axles (you need the mid 80's to '92 Ranger driver side axles). Anywho, I'd rather not sell just part of the package...I still might wanna do the swap some day. I do have some "Fox Length" 31 spline axles though...except they are 4 lug. You'd have to have them plugged and redrilled. If you want to buy the whole thing...shoot me an offer. I'm easy.

Here's a couple of links for you on the flip...

Yeah but he said they arent quite fox length,.. 3/4" on each side. Sounds like SN95 length axles to me.

Fox are 29 5/32 inches if I remember correctly.

Edit:

NVM,.. my bad. I thought you were talking to Brett.

Tony,

The axles I bought were Moser, but I think they were cut wrong. You can get them in custom lenghts for like $250 brand new directly from Moser. These were 3/4 of an inch too long, which I think are the SN95 length. If Zman can make you an offer you can't refuse....
I will send you a PM about the other stuff. Basically I need all the parts, as I need to be able to shim the brackets out, to allow for the longer axles. I won't be able to use the stuff I already have welded, but I can bring my old brackets back to you after I get this stuff done. They are still good, if you have the right lenght axles. Which.... I don't! I have even thought about just buying another set from Moser and then trying to sell these, stating the actual size. However, if I can do the brackets cheaper I don't think they are going to push my tires out far enough to make a difference.
