My Track Notes And Slips From Last Night
My Track Notes And Slips From Last Night
This was of course the maiden voyage to the track with the new motor and bigger turbo on the car after 2.5 years.
My original plan was to 1/8th mile it due to the bad inner tie rods found at the alignment ship mid last week that I could not get repaired prior to the event, yada, yada.
So on the first run I basically came off idle and rolled the car out about two car lengths which was when I had enough rpm's to mat it without fear of the car doing anything stupid and a setting I have on the carb right now (hard to explain in less than 1000 words ).
Once the car got moving I kept it at about 2/3 throttle with every intention of just clicking it off at the 1/8th. Well the car was going straight as a arrow and the bad tie rods were not causing any issues so I just stayed in it to the other side. This run was the first one to the left in the pic below. My notes are on there too.
The second run I rolled out about 1.5 cars and matted it full throttle, oh baby ! It was moving the F out. This is the middle pass in the pic..
The last run was rolling out the same 1.5 cars and matting it, I shifted a little quick in 1st because I felt a slight tire spin, then ran it out. This was the 10.003 run.
I knew the car was going to make power but I am astonished it is making this kind of power on relatively low boost for my set-up and on a very safe tune. The mph is what surprised the shit out of me.
This was on done on M/T Drag radials, leaving on no boost, foot brake, etc..
This car typically 60ft's like a champ, with far less power on the old turbo set up it would run 1.41 all day long. If it just does that again that is .40 off these runs on the low side.
What I liked about these runs is I got progressively quicker as I was re-learning the car. Best of all I got my best light against my buddy Bitemark.
Thanks to everyone that came by and gave compliments, etc.. It made the evening that much better.
Looks like Fulco still knows how to make lots of power.

Nice Scott!
Glad you finally made it out to the track. Wish I could have seen it but I didn't know you were going out there.
