ok it wasnt the IAC
so some of u read and helped me out on my thread about my car actin up, especially berry bledsoe lol
so berry i would like some more help from u and others
well i found out wat the problem was, after replacing EVER sensor in the car . it was the ECU
so i put in a A9P, which mine was an A9L, and as soon as i put it in is started up great and runs pretty good too. My only issue is that when i first started it and now ever time as well, the r.p.m. jumps way up to 2500r.p.m. and then gradually settles down. iv done the base idle reset and it didnt make a difference. AND i checked the tps but for some reason it wont go below 4.7vlts no matter wat i do. im confused because it was set perfect before i swapped the ecu. and the CEL just wont go away.
my question is, would the A9P be why its doing this?
or wat else?

4.7 Volts on the TPS is WOT. Maybe your TPS is shot or maybe you don't have it positioned properly on the throttle body shaft. Actually, I'm kind of surprised that it starts at all because when you crank the engine with the gas pedal pushed all the way down, WOT, that shuts the injectors OFF. That's how you clear a flooded condition on startup under normal circumstances.

I agree with Tony, more than likely you don't have the 'tang' of the TPS lined up correctly on the throttle blade. To test, take the tps sensor off the TB. Red lead to green wire, black lead to ground, read the voltage. Then report back. You can also turn the "tang" on the inside of the TPS with a flathead screwdriver and watch the voltage change. Install it on the TB again, set it between .96-.98V. Not .5 volts....
Should cure the spike in RPM on first startup, as well as the CEL.

yea thats wat i figured but wouldnt it have read the same before?
and when i start it, it starts as if u slam on the gas when it jumps up to 2500 r.p.m.
could somethin be makin the car jump to WOT?

iv been readin up that the ecu ground wire can cause these little things. is that true?
and is that located? is that the little black wire on the negative battery cable?
