Default Local fiberglass of carbon fiber specialists??

Anyone know a skilled carbon fiber or fiberglass specialist locally? There are a couple of aftermarket hoods I would like to investigate replicating/customizing to my tastes. Any leads would be appreciated.

How many are you trying to make? I know the owner of Tampa Fiberglass. He could definitely do anything you want, but its a matter of being worth it probably.

I guess it would depend on what he needs to make it viable. At the moment, I'm really interested in making one for myself, but would be open to group buying a certain batch run number of hoods, if need be. Can you PM his email address? I could send him some pics of what I am looking for. Thanks!

I don't think your going to find anybody to make you a CF hood here in town...there is a guy in St pete, but he's like $1000+. Most Fiberglass shops won't touch CF, they are totally different animals.

I'm exploring both options. If I go fiberglass, I'll paint it, but if I can find someone to do quality CF work, I'll likely leave it bare. If anyone can do quality work and reproduce the hood I have in mind, I'd be delighted with either, even if it did run me $1k. Believe me, that's a bargain compared to what Prova is asking! :o

How so? I've worked with both and find them to be pretty damned similar.

Local Fiberglass shops WILL NOT spend the time to correctly lay the weave of CF straight. CF doesn't stretch around corners easily...you should know that....

THere is a Fiberglass supply house in St Pete, go visit them. Ask them about a guy who plays with CF in his spare time.... He lives in Pinellas Park or St Pete, I forget his name...I used to have his number. He does this CF stuff on the side, but he's made hoods before, and he also has made some CF parts for some F1 amd imdy teams.

I want to say his first name is George...

There's someone on this board that does CF work. I'll talk to him and show him this thread, I can tell you now that you'll need several other people to buy the same hood and there will be a long wait to have it done though. He'll post or PM you if he's interested.
