I was thinking of getting one and putting a Str8 6 from a 280 Turbo....

I keep telling my friend the same thing but he's torn between the SR and turboing an L24 motor (basically a 280ZX motor missing 2 cylinders). He's also contemplating a VQ35 with 6 speed setup since he's got the motor and tranny sitting there. I think that would be too much weight over the nose and too tough to work on.
