Default question about wheel offsets?

if i put wheels that are made around 38-43 offsett i forget offhand on a car that normaly has 20something offset,
what exactly will that affect?
is it bad? if so how bad?

WRONG!!!!!!!

It depends on more than that though.

it's hard to explain, but they won't stick out.....here is what it might look like....

Instead of....

but there are other factors you must consider....what is the width of the wheel? What is the backspacing? things like that make a huge difference.....

Yeah are we talking 6" to 6" wheels - or are you changing rim width too?

its for the 325, i bought these wheels for my civic

but yesterday when i brought the bmw to the garage i was like rwd mmmmmmmm then when i was looking at the stock wheels i was like that looks hella close to the civics bolt pattern, and i found out it is 4x100
so i was gonna put the 17x7's with 205 40 s on the bmw,
right now its got 14's and i forget the rest of the tire size

Also, depending on the offset change and rim width change, your SIA will change.

Big difference - you might be introducing a who list of issues - Who's the wheel mfg - call them - the;ll be able to tell you what size spacers, what the best fit is etc.
