Default Paint to use for plastic interiors?? non-chipping paint please!

My car has many black plastic parts, center consal, dash, doors, hatch, etc. I hate my tan/black interior with my blue seats, blue car, It's also old looking and marked up. Im looking for a change, Many of people i've seen paint there interiors and they come out great, but chip and look terrible 6 months later. What kind of paint do YOU stand behind for a good solid job on plastic rough surface interiors. Also has anyone had luck with vinyl, fabric, some type of wrapped with adhesive backing? any tips on prepping steps that many people leave out. thanks

jeremy

you don't paint interior panels, you die them.

Sand and primer them with a 2k primer and paint with base/clear coat. they wont chip with normal use like vinly or other shitty spray paints.

yeah i was gonna say vinyl dye but i have no clue if that will work. i vinyl dyed a cell phone cover and it eventually started chipping.. but i didnt follow the directions entirely anyways, it can be a lengthy process.

no, dont use the interior paint that they sell at autozone!ive done mine 3 times and the final time has held longer then any other and still loks good, if it is hard plastic the stuff from auyozone chipps and can even bubble under the sun, go to home depot its called painters touch by rust-olem. the paint is for outdoor plastic patio chairs, the the plastic primer, a few coats of paint and then use the same clear it works awsome and when fully dry it is extremely hard to chip off if you can get it to chip.

i used zylene(spelling??) to get any armor all off, then lightly sanded it, then wiped it again with zylene, then used the plastic primet that the same company sells. just do a few light coats of color then a few of clear, let dry for 1/2 day and it should be ready to reinstall.
