Lake Mirror Classic Car Show
Lake Mirror Classic Car Show
EDIT: put this here because no one reads Local Events section.
Just a heads up for anyone who likes good ole' American and European classics to head out to Lakeland this Saturday to check out the car show on Lake Mirror in downtown Lakeland. Cost is free to get in, last year the show wrapped all the way around the lake and filled a good 1/2 of downtown (and Lakeland isn't a small city like some think either). Some beautiful cars there.
Last year some notable spottings:
-A row of 5 to 8 DeTomaso Panteras (chevy v8 powered IIRC)
-1960's authentic Ford GT40 race car
-Plenty of old 1920's and 1930's cars
-A Stanley Steamer or two, couple Model A's/Model T's
-Plenty of T-buckets
-Plenty of twinscrew blown Hemi's and 60s Camaros/Chevelles
There's even hotdogs/burgers, etc food to hit up and stuff. I think they even have a raffle for something. Some classic music blasting, lots of friendly folks.
If anyone plans on going, let me know, I should be there sometime Saturday mid-day.
DIRECTIONS: [Fromt Tampa] Take I-4 to Lakeland. Get off the Exit for US 98 (this exit has the Hooters/Hooters Inn on the north side of the exit, if you hit State Rd. 33, you've gone too far). Take 98 south about 5-6 miles, go straight the whole way, you'll come into downtown (high rise buildings, timed stoplights (Main Street/rail road tracks). Take a left at Main Street or any of those, pending which ones aren't blocked off). Find a parking spot.
