im starting to dislike the evo period.. i at one time drove one, and i couldnt justify paying that kind of money for one after getting inside it... the interior is far and through, SUBSTANDARD for a 30k car... ill stick with something like a used vette, or my supra...

I'd personally get an MR...with an RS you'd need A.C. IMO with that 'Urban Jungle' package, which almost defeats the purpose. With an MR you get center differential, a bit more here and there, the wing back (wO0t) and IIRC 6 speed

well the JDM RS is the hottness. a stripped down model with no power accessories. no sound deadner, no crash bars, no speakers, no stereo, no power windows or locks.. just the essentials. and thats what i would buy.
oh, and just cuz they SAY recaro doesnt mean they are good... The mitsu designers probably just drew up a "neat" looking design and showed it to recaro with an offer of X amount of dollars per seat... they said "eh... what the fuck...we will make them for you and slap our name on it" that doesnt necessarily mean that they are as good as the aftermarket Recaros used in race cars and what not... its just a Recaro name and a relatively generic "performance oriented" chair... not necessarily a Racing seat.
the WRX trannies didnt last very long because of ham fisted americans gorilla shifting their new turbo cars... these are the older adults who used to drive V8's with Muncie's and RWD and could bang gears without stressing over a broken shift fork or stripped teeth or broken synchros... the STi tranny is FAR different and eon's ahead of the standard WRX tranny. it can handle a good amount of power, as Zate said.
conversely, the EVo trannies have had some problems too. my friends 5th gear went out after like 4000 miles... he ended up selling it and buying a 10 second AWD 1G from Buschur i think.
i dont know why people still buy new cars... just money pits. why? so you can be the first person to drive it or back it off the transporter? F-that noise... buy a 2-3 yr old car after its been severely depreciated, still has low miles and relatively unbeaten... its a steal-and-a-half... look at the 03 cobras and Z06's that are being put up for sale; you can buy a slightly-used Z06 or cobra for the same price as a new Evo, or LESS... and annihilate the 4 door saloons on the Auto-X.
you DONT need AWD and a turbo to own the AutoX... the C5's can be set up VERY well, as well as the FC3S, even some Honda's.
