I do believe however that his last run, his 60' dropped a tenth, after they started forcing everyone through the water box.. Track looked to start to get tricky for cars with power about 100-200' out..
you adjust for it and move on..
i can't comment one way or the other as I wasn't running.

I didnt run. I watched...hopefully i will run next time. Couple of suggestions for next time..For those of us in the stands, please make sure if parents bring their kids, they control them. It was like a zoo i saw little kids almost getting killed in the staging lanes crossing the parking lot constantly. As a fan, i would like to see all the times run instead of NT...overall it was a great experience and i will go to the next event.

there was a guy there that got a 12.07 time slip. But it was not mechanically, or physically possible. So something was wrong!

That's an understatement. (especially in a short wheelbase car)

I suspect that alot of the water dripped off people's radials after they pulled through the box but were waiting for the cars in front of them to stage. I'm thinking what water was left was being slung out of the tread past the 60' mark.

They should have turned off the water and taken a broom and swept all of the standing water out of the boxes before running people through them. I think that would have helped a lot.

We can bring 100+ cars, and 500+ spectators to a track event. Either they make us happy, or we will go to the next closest track.

We did not request for the center lane to be closed. Why should our reputation be at the mercy of the track's actions? This will hopefully be resolved soon.

As someone said earlier though, we have had 10 very sucessfull track events.

I agree with Aaron and Scott. 1 out of 11 track days was "not good" which to me is pretty good. Although I do agree with the prep. As I posted in another thread about 6pm I noticed the concrete was showing at the line. It was a small section about 1-2 feet long. This is the first time I ever noticed the concrete at a TR event. But I did manage to get a new best 60ft(Go figure) but overall ET was the same with slower mph, which I'm sure the weather conditions were to blame.
I'll be optimistic about it and I'm sure Scott will talk to Wade to resolve the issue. But the staging lane were very short in the beggining. -Mark

My car was running very bad, but I think the track was prepped very well at first. I know the strong head-wind caused problems for the faster cars and the humidity definately doesn't help. Still had a good time, just the track officials made a bad decision at the end, I spun most of my run the last time out. Either way it was a good time, I'm sure the next one will be better.

On a lighter note Bill, I didn't get to experience the time travel. I could only manage about 1.03 jigawatts, instead of the full 1.21 needed for time travel.

I saw the usual handful of cars that didn't know the rules rolling through the waterbox early on. I saw the guys on street tires up front who really knew what they were doing back into the waterbox instead of just rolling through. The FWD cars on slicks always have to roll through, that's agiven. But seeing them block off the center and force people to drive through and seeing them still hosing down the waterbox with the center blocked off, I was shocked. That beautiful Corvette almost lost it twice after that, off and on the throttle because the track had been slicked down. There were setbacks because of cars slicking down the track with oil and coolant, and it seems like the track officials panicked.

As always the threads leading up to the event emphasized not driving through the waterbox. The best measure to correct that is telling people when you see them do it, because many just don't know the track etiquette.

I don't know about shutting down the track for rain as I had to leave at about 9:30 anyway, but I didn't encounter any rain on my drive home.
