MSN is looking at our market? So are automotive manufacturers. Japan isn't a bunch of stupid gooks like you choktaw backwoods hillbilly's think. Why bring 400hp cars with capabilities way beyond anything an american could fathom using, to a market that will not buy them? I mean, racing in America means going fast in a straight line, either that or making a series of left turns for hours on end.

Until consumers begin to look beyond the current trends of SUV's, NASCAR, and 10 ton pick up trucks, manufacturers aren't going to build and offer anything but, in our market anyways.

I like how everyone says American motor companies can't do anything but go in a straight line and only do left hand turns, don't we compete in cart?IRL?ok,I thought so.

Plus, when a Honda runs next to Johnny Force, then I'll say good job,we've been running right next to there best for along time now.

Toyota always has been good at beating people at their own game.

Thats really the only one thats going to hit production from Japan that will be in the club for a while I think though

John, this is one of those posts I was referring to in earlier threads. "I'm fucking better than you because I drive a Japanese car, Japan won't send their good stuff here because you guys are a bunch of dumb redneck inbred drag racing oval track racing morons!!"

Makes me wonder why Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Maybach, Mercedes, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, and Volkswagon even bothered. Someone should have sent them the memo. I guess the Japanese have cars that none of those manufacturers could even fathom as well? Give me a fucking break.

I don't for the life of me understand why anyone would choose to stick up for Japan as if it's some dumb redneck's fault they don't send anything with real power here while there are not one, not two, not three, but ELEVEN different import manufacturers on that list. So Japan figures nobody in America wants a car with horsepower? I'd be insulted if I was a Japanese car enthusiast, not sticking up for them, and certainly not insulting fellow Americans, that's retarded. With the popularity of Japanese cars in this country, I think they could market some of their more powerful cars here successfully, a few years back I would have said no, they went after the luxury market with a vengence, why not show us they're capable of making horsepower as well? Oh yeah, because we're dumb Americans that can't even fathom what they are capable of doing, that's the stupidest thing I've read on here in a long time.

You dug your own grave with that one. Americans aren't willing to spend good money on a car unless they think its going to make them look cool to the other people at the stop light. Therefore, when they painfully lay down their 80K on a vehicle, the most important design feature is usually the plastic moniker attached to the hood and trunk, not what lies in between them.

Those are your words not mine. Though, what I prefer to own, I cannot due to what americans are purchasing as a whole.

It has started,somewhat.

The Subaru WRX paved the way, and led for the STi and Lancer Evolution.

The plain fact is that Japan doesn't have any huge horsepower numbered cars to send here. All the high end Japanese sports cars (RX-7,Supra,Skyline GT-R) are not produced anymore.

Thus, When the new Supra and Skyline debut, then Japan will be able to compete with the high hp cars.

I did what I had to do to make my point. Americans are only interested in driving status symbols, not performance.

Whens the last time you saw a sports car commercial on TV? All I see is commercial after commercial of "because were building the toughest trucks" or "biggest towing capacity in its class" and personally,Im sick and fucking tired of it. And guess who I blame?
