No Jap cars in the club....what a pity...
MSN is looking at our market? So are automotive manufacturers. Japan isn't a bunch of stupid gooks like you choktaw backwoods hillbilly's think. Why bring 400hp cars with capabilities way beyond anything an american could fathom using, to a market that will not buy them? I mean, racing in America means going fast in a straight line, either that or making a series of left turns for hours on end.
Until consumers begin to look beyond the current trends of SUV's, NASCAR, and 10 ton pick up trucks, manufacturers aren't going to build and offer anything but, in our market anyways.

I like how everyone says American motor companies can't do anything but go in a straight line and only do left hand turns, don't we compete in cart?IRL?ok,I thought so.
Plus, when a Honda runs next to Johnny Force, then I'll say good job,we've been running right next to there best for along time now.

Toyota always has been good at beating people at their own game.
Thats really the only one thats going to hit production from Japan that will be in the club for a while I think though

Makes me wonder why Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Maybach, Mercedes, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, and Volkswagon even bothered. Someone should have sent them the memo. I guess the Japanese have cars that none of those manufacturers could even fathom as well? Give me a fucking break.

i have to say that blueboost brought up an interesting point.. japanese car manufacturers are going to make what the american public wants.. enter Hondas large pickup truck.. because its what people want.. they want SUVs and trucks to go with their $2.50 a gallon gas prices... you think they couldnt make a 400 hp V8 coupe ?.. sure they could.. but why sell 5,000 units of a coupe like that at a high price when they can sell a whooooole bunch of trucks and small cars and make alot more money.
btw BBB - how many units do those manufacturers sell ?.. how much do those cars cost? .. its economics of scale really.. why sell 5,000 units at $100,000 when you can sell 50,000 units at $25,000 .. alot of those car companies you mention sell relatively few cars when compared to the number of basic trucks, SUVs etc etc that general americans buy ..
american car makers sell to people who generally think $2.50 a gallon for gas is expensive.. who have plenty of places to park their cars.. who dont use a whole lot of public transport.. who live in a very large open wide country .. who generalyl have 2-3 cars per household.. things are different in japan and alot of you guys dont understand that.. its a market driven thing and in japan the market is different.. hell their fuel is different (higher octane/RON) and their economy is different..\
people are very brand loyal typically aswell.. they tend to stick with what they know..

It has started,somewhat.
The Subaru WRX paved the way, and led for the STi and Lancer Evolution.
The plain fact is that Japan doesn't have any huge horsepower numbered cars to send here. All the high end Japanese sports cars (RX-7,Supra,Skyline GT-R) are not produced anymore.
Thus, When the new Supra and Skyline debut, then Japan will be able to compete with the high hp cars.

Whens the last time you saw a sports car commercial on TV? All I see is commercial after commercial of "because were building the toughest trucks" or "biggest towing capacity in its class" and personally,Im sick and fucking tired of it. And guess who I blame?
